THE WAITING CITY - STARING RADHA MITCHELL, JOEL EDGERTON & ISABEL LUCAS
The official release of The Waiting City's beau trailer.
i AM A LOVER of this aussi tale shot entirely in Calcutta India, and looking forward for its release July 15, but something you MAY NOT KNOW is that i illustrated a 5 minute frame by frame animated sequence to accompany the closing credits. A piece inspired by the stories which unfold on the screen. Heres a sneak screen grab:
"Written and Directed by Claire McCarthy The Waiting City first premiered last year at the Toronto International Film festival and get a national release in Australia on the 15th of July. It stars Radha Mitchell (Finding Neverland) and Joel Edgerton (Star Wars: Episode II & III) as an outwardly happy Australian couple who journey to Calcutta to collect their adopted baby. On arrival however, they find that the arrangements are yet to be finalized and their relationship deteriorates. Needless to say hilarity does not ensue.
Home and Away alumni Isabel Lucas also stars and though the titles and soundtrack verge into saccharine soul-searching territory, the natural beauty and sheer vibrancy of India is hard to not get lost in. Check it out below... "

DARK SIDE OF THE SUNNY MOON FOR L'OREAL MELBOURNE FASHION FESITVAL
Since i have a morning to ponder...
Watching too many period films whist editing and my english skills are turning into ancient chatter.
Something which i never reported on but which was a great little happening about a month ago.
DARK SIDE OF THE SUNNY MOON was asked to be part of PORTABLE FILM FESTIVAL. An online film festival, which in this particular case, was in conjunction with L'OREAL MELBOURNE FASHION FESTIVAL.
This means two good things
ONE - Dark side was exhibited "its stuff" on the catwalk on FRIDAY 19TH MARCH.. (extract from portable fashion festival continued below)

DRAW A CONCLUSION - FASHION, ANIMATION & THE ABSTRACT
Strutting it's stuff of the catwalk on Friday 19th March is Portable Fashion Festival's showcase presentation: Draw a Conclusion - Fashion, Animation & the Abstract. This collection features: Cara Stricker (Australia) – Dark Side of the Sunny Moon, Dandi Wind (Canada) – Yolk of the Golden Egg, Igor Zimmermann (Sweden) La Vitesse et La Pierre.
An exploration of the abstract, the films in this category really experiment with narrative, form and style in expressing fashion and culture. Delve into the animated world of Cara Stricker, Dandi wind and Igor Zimmermann as they traverse the fashion landscape that exists in their imaginations.
